Have you heard the latest news? Great White Sharks are being spotted almost daily in and around Orange County. They are being spotted from both land and sea. There are many reasons why experts believe there is a surge in the sightings. First of all, the Great White was added to the endangered species list since 1994 because its population had decreased due to unregulated trade and excessive hunting. Next, the Great White is the top predator in the ocean, and grown sharks are at the top of the food chain. The food source for the shark has also increased including squid, sardines, and sea bass allowing the younger ones to flourish and grow into full adults. Does this make you want to jump into the water for a quick swim?
