According to California Association of Realtors, in June homes averaged more than one counter-offer each which means sellers are continuing to push for top-dollar this summer. Home prices continued to rise in 2016 and 2017, as supply shortages and affordability constraints hamper market activity. This is a stark contrast to the years of 2008-2012 when the nation's housing starts were below all previous troughs going back some 40 years. Interest rates continue to remain low and the economy remains strong.
